Q: Where do I have to pay rent?
A: You can pay the rent at the front office of rental company Stadswonen. For contact information please visit http://www.stadswonen.nl/website_new/html/contact1.html .

Q: Can I cancel my housing contract?
A: After signing the housing contract it is not possible to change or cancel the housing contract. If you decide to move out earlier than the end date, you still have the obligation of paying rent till the end date of the housing contract.

Q: When will I get back the deposit?
A: Two months after the end of your housing contract the transfer procedure will start. Keep in mind that you will only get the deposit back if you do not have any unsettled debts with Stadswonen or Hogeschool Rotterdam and your room is in good condition upon departure.

Q: Do I have to pay for Internet?
A: Rent includes internet, local taxes, gas, electricity and water costs.

Q: How do I get medical help?
A: If you need to see a doctor we suggest you go and see Doctor Oudeman

Please note that if you visit a dentist or doctor (GP) you will need to pay cash. Don’t forget to ask for the receipts as your insurance company will need these.

Q: Who do I contact if I lose my key (card)?
A: On weekdays from 9.00 - 16.30 hours you can pick up a new key (card) at Student Housing Office. The charges are € 30,00.
On weekdays after 16.30 hours you can pick up a new key (card) at Stadswonen. The charges are € 30,00.
After office hours and during weekends you can call Stadswonen’s emergency phone number 010 – 412 36 41. The charges are at least € 75,00.

Q: Who do I contact when having problems with my furniture?
A: You can contact Student Housing Office at studenthousingoffice@hro.nl .

Q: Who do I contact when having technical problems?
A: Tenants of Robert Baelde Hall can contact the caretaker at the top floor of the building. Tenants of African Inn can contact the caretaker or the student manager at the second floor of the building.
Tenants of Koningslaan can contact Stadswonen at shortstay@stadswonen.nl or Student Housing Office at studenthousingoffice@hro.nl .

Q: Are guests allowed to stay the night?
A: Guests are allowed to spend not more than 2 nights in your room. Only one guest at the time. Please make sure to ask your roommate and Student Housing Office for permission. Safety regulations require you to provide Student Housing Office with the full name of your guest.

Q: Can I keep pets in my room?
A: Pets are not allowed.
